Our Mission

We represent, support, and connect engineers across the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College London. From academic support to welfare concerns, we make sure every student's voice is heard. Together with our Clubs & Societies, we aim to create opportunities, celebrate our shared heritage, and help every engineer make the most of their time at Imperial. Read more about us.

Our chant

Imperial College Union

Imperial College Union is the central body that represents all students at Imperial. Within this structure, we as CGCU speak for engineers while working closely with ICU to make sure our community has the support, resources, and opportunities it needs. Through this partnership, engineers are part of the wider student voice that shapes life across the whole College. Check out ICU.

CGCA

The City & Guilds College Association is the alumni association of City & Guilds College Union. It was founded in 1897 to support graduates and maintain links with the College and its student union. Today, CGCA continues to connect thousands of engineers worldwide, fostering ties with the City & Guilds College Union, the City & Guilds of London Institute, and Imperial College London. Visit their website.

The Old Centralians' Trust

The Old Centralians' Trust, founded in 1965, is the charitable arm of the City & Guilds College Association (CGCA). It exists to support CGCU engineering students through emergency financial aid, grants for projects and expeditions, and an annual set of 20 Student Activity Awards (each worth £750) recognising students who contribute to college life through clubs, societies, and leadership.

Currently, our students can apply for bursaries and awards through their Departmental Senior Tutor or by contacting the Trust directly. For more details, visit the Trust's page.
